SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for severe thunderstorms today Friday July 10th, a Slight Risk (level 2/5) for severe thunderstorms tomorrow Saturday July 11th, and a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for severe thunderstorms Sunday July 12th.

There is a low chance of severe weather through the weekend. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall will be the primary threats with all of these storms.

A Flood Watch is in effect. Up to 4 inches of additional rain are in the forecast. Many areas have already received 2-3 inches in the last few days. Due to this soils are saturated and the flash flooding risk will increase.

Please use this time to make preparations:

     - Have multiple systems to receive warnings.

     - Have a storm readiness plan for your home.

     - Ensure your NOAA Weather Radio is operational.

     - Stay #WeatherAware and tuned into our social media and local media for updates.
